A month goes by

Well, so far I am off to a dubious start. I had hoped to post more frequently, but no such luck...

Adoption News
Since I last posted, we have spent many hours getting together paperwork for our upcoming adoption. We visited our non-profit adoption service and were really pleased with our experience there. Faith International is located in Tacoma, Washington, and they are experts in China adoptions, which we finally settled on. I was initially intrigued by the idea of adoption from Nepal, but apparently we could only adopt a boy since we already have a girl at home.

In addition we've had multiple forms notarized and signed, and had our home study visit. Now all of our paperwork is in order, and we wait for our trip to Yakima, Washington, for a visit to the immigration service (now known as CIS) for fingerprinting and a background check. After that, our dossier is essentially complete and we play the waiting game. We've been told that the whole process could take a year, so the wait could be long...
